These Terms of Service govern your use of this website and your engagement of moving, packing, and storage services from Hicks Moving and Storage, based in Dryden, New York. By using this site or booking a move with us, you agree to the terms below.

Our Services

Hicks Moving and Storage is a licensed and insured moving company operating our own trucks with our own W-2 crew. We provide local moving, long-distance moving, packing, short-term storage, and related services across Tompkins County and the routes listed on this site. We do not broker, dispatch, or resell your move to another carrier.

Quotes and Pricing

Quotes are prepared based on the information you provide during a phone call, video walkthrough, or in-home visit. Flat-rate quotes assume the scope discussed at the time of quoting; a significant change in the items, access, or services requested may require an updated quote before the move proceeds.

Booking and Deposits

We do not require a deposit to reserve a move date. Dates are held on a first-scheduled basis, and we ask that customers notify our office as early as possible of any date changes so we can adjust crew and truck scheduling.

Scheduling Changes and Weather

Tompkins County weather, including spring mud season and winter lake-effect snow, can occasionally require a rescheduled arrival window. When conditions affect road safety or access, our office will contact you to arrange a new time as close to the original date as possible.

Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for disclosing hazardous or restricted items, providing safe and clear access to the property, and ensuring someone authorized is available to meet the crew at pickup and delivery. Additional time required due to inaccessible parking or unprepared items may affect the final invoice.

Liability and Claims

Hicks Moving and Storage carries general liability and cargo coverage as a licensed mover, with authority on file at our office. Any damage claim should be reported to our office promptly so our billing and insurance coordinator can begin the claims process.

Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the move unless other arrangements have been made in advance with our office. Accepted payment methods are confirmed at the time of booking.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from a move is limited to the coverage in place for that move under our cargo and liability policies, as described in your moving agreement.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of this site or our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
